Eine andere viel geschätzte Form der Brille war der normale Zwicker mit runden Gläsern, Harnfassung und einem Stahlbügel. Dagegen gibt es einen besonderen Zwicker für Patienten mit Astigmatismus, der am steifen Spezialsteg erkennbar ist. Selbstverständlich gab es auch Zwicker mit gefärbten Gläsern zum in die Sonne Schauen, und andere, die uns heute direkt modern anmuten, weil sie wie die heutigen Halbbrillen aussehen. Sie erzeugte man für presbyope Kunden. Von jeher waren die Optiker auch bestrebt, die Brillenbehälter möglichst ansprechend zu gestalten, wie z. B. in Form eines Pantoffels aus der Biedermeierzeit der mit Perlstickerei verziert ist. Es gab und gibt lederne Etuis, die mit Monogramm versehen waren, auf Brillenbehälter in Form
