Elsevier’s präsentiert seine Produkte seit 28. August 2010 auf einer einheitlichen Plattform: SciVerse. Damit bringt Elsevier die verschiedenen Produkte wie ScienceDirect, Scopus, die Web-Inhalte aus Scirus und SciTopics unter einer Suchoberfläche zusammen. Elsevier versucht dem Wunsch und den Anforderungen der heutigen Wissenschaftscommunity nach einer vereinfachten Suche mit einem Single-Point of Access nachzukommen
SciVerse bietet verschiedene Online-Tools zur Einführung der neuen Suchoberfläche

Das Journal of Visualized Experiments (JoVE) ist eine der ersten wissenschaftlichen Zeitschriften, die Experimente und Methoden aus den verschiedenen biologischen Fachdisziplinen per Video aufzeichnet und publiziert.
JoVE ist nicht nur ein bahnbrechend neues Video-Format, sondern auch peer-reviewed, in der Datenbank PubMed gelistet und zitierbar. Dieses neue Format erlaubt es Experimente nicht nur nachzulesen, sondern direkt daran teilzunehmen. Bekam man bisher eine „Bauanleitung“, die beim Wiederholen oft verschieden ausgelegt werden konnte, so kann man nun zusehen und jeden Schritt genau nachverfolgen.
Zu dem Video gibt es zusätzlich einen kleinen Abstract, ein Protokoll und die Möglichkeit Fragen zu stellen und somit in Interaktion mit den Publizierenden zu treten.
