To be able to borrow items, you must have a valid library card from the university library of the Medical University of Vienna.

If you do not return a book on time or fail to renew a loan period in time, reminder and late fees will be incurred. You can find information on overdue fines here.
You can borrow up to 20 items (books, DVDs and CD-ROMs), with a maximum of:
- 10 books or DVDs/CD-ROMs from the textbook collection
- 10 books or DVDs/CD-ROMs from the main collection
Books and DVDs/CD-ROMs from the textbook collection can only be borrowed by students of the Medical University of Vienna.
Renewals are not possible if a book has already been renewed 4 times the length of the loan period (>>max. loan period) or if it has been reserved by another user.
Since you can renew loans via your library user account, renewals by telephone are possible only in exceptional cases. Renewals by email are not possible.

Please notify us immediately of any change of address, name or email address by bringing your certificate of registration (“Meldebestätigung”) to the library circulation desk or send it to bibliothek@meduniwien.ac.at.
Reserved books can be collected within 7 days at the circulation desk. You should receive a notification via email. For technical reasons, notifications can sometimes fail to be delivered, so we kindly ask you to regularly check your user account.
In cases of loss or damage, the borrower is obliged to cover the cost of a replacement copy (of the same or a more recent edition).
