If you do not return a book/DVD/CD-ROM on time or fail to extend a loan period in time, a reminder will be sent automatically. In this case a reminder fee as well as the accumulated overdue fines will be charged by the University Library of the Medical University of Vienna in line with the “Library Regulations for Universities”.
The fine for an overdue item per item and per day is € 0.40.
Loans are only possible once all fines have been paid.
According to the Library Regulations (Benutzungsordnung/Gebührenordnung), the late return of an item will incur charges of:
Per reminder: reminder fee of € 2.00
Overdue fines: € 0.40 per item and per day
Reminders are sent as follows:
- First reminder: the second day after the due date (by email)
- Second reminder: 14 days after the first reminder (by email)
- Third reminder: 28 days after the second reminder (by post)
Fines will continue to accumulate until the overdue item(s) are returned to the library circulation desk. After returning all overdue items, please pay your fines at the automatic pay station in the library.
